Q. What is the toughest thing to handle about Maria’s game?
A. Well, she’s hitting the ball really hard. She has a good
serve and good groundstrokes. Today, I think I just played a
really bad match. It’s such a pity because it was very
important, I think, the semis for me because it’s the last
tournament and I wanted to play my best, you know, to show my
best but it didn’t happen but the season is over and I think it
was a good year for me and hopefully next year will be better.
Q. You talk to yourself when you’re playing, what do you say?
A. Yes, I do. It was very tough today because I made so many
easy mistakes. I was just commentating to myself a little bit.
Q. Have you done better than you thought you would throughout
the year? When you started the year, did you think you’d be here
in semifinals?
A. No, actually, I didn’t think about that and maybe that’s the
good thing because anyway I was here and I was in semis. Of
course, it’s a good result but you always
want to play better and do better until you didn’t win the
tournament. It didn´t happen this week but still I think it was
a good week for me.
Q. You had a great season this year. Could you talk about it
a little bit?
A. Yes, I did. I won 4 tournaments, won team championship, the
Fed Cup, 2 semifinals at the Grand Slam and here and, as I said,
I think it was a good year for me.
Siill I think I will work to prepare myself for next year and
hopefully next year will be even better. |
